Lakeside Scale Models
Paul Turner

Paul Turner started Lakeside Scale Models in December 1996 and began offering structure craftsman kits in January 1997 with the issue of the Wolfeboro Freight House in HO scale.

"I used to walk to work along the tracks from Wolfeboro Falls and Downtown and the walk took me past the Berry Mill Excelsior Mill and the Wolfeboro Freight House. Since I was so familiar with the freight house, it was natural for me to use it as my first kit"

During the summer, Lakeside Scale Models began producing diorama kits of the O.P. Berry Excelsior Mill Complex, the first was the Berry Machine Shop, followed shortly with the Thompson Woodworking Shop and the Smith River Company.

Over the next three years, Paul produced many small lasercut structure kits as well as a line of "Board-by-Board" kits issued as "The Country Road Series."

In 2001, Paul, wanting to pursue writing and travelling, sold the rights to all of the Lakeside Scale Model lasercut products to Bollinger Edgerly Scale Trains and later The Country Road Series of kits to Railroad Kits.
