Boston & Maine Railroad Ice Storage for Air Conditioned Coaches 40ft Wooden Reefer Decal 2006 In June and July of 1951 several the remaining 40ft wooden reefers were place into stationary company ice service. Four of these cars kept at Boston and were used store ice primarily for air conditioning in passenger service. This car "advertised" the air conditioning that passengers could hope for when traveling in long distance service.
