Clough Service Station

Publication: Narrow Gauge and Short Line Gazette
Publication Date: November / December 2013

This little service station is based on a protype in Alton, New Hampshire, and features a small office, gas pump island, and distinctive signage. The kit consists of wood laser cut components, strip wood, wire, plastic door and windows, graphics and white metal castings for the pumps - and two stations attendants. The wires are included to create a distinctive pole sign. I assembled my kit is a few sessions. I did add a smoke stack since I plan to model the Colorado area, and imagine heat would be appreciated in winter. There is some fussy work involved in assembling the pole sign as well as the pump handles and hoses. Otherwise, I encountered no problems. The large roof signs and tall poles sign really make this a distinctive - yet typical - roadside gas station.
